Job Description


  • The Precision Agriculture Section of the project seeks Scientific Officer, who would be required to contribute in Project GreenAI research related to Auto Steering System, Green Cabin/Hydroponics, Smart Irrigation Techniques, Geospatial Data Analysis with an aim to lead the project in the indigenization of precision agriculture implements.
  • He/She will spearhead research work including data collection/ acquisition for machine learning and software development. He/ she would also guide his/her sub-ordinates in research activities relating to Auto Steer System, Green Cabins, Smart Irrigation, Geospatial/Sensors data related to Project GreenAI.
  • He/She will have to manage and lead staff and other resources including budget preparation.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive digital infrastructure for the agriculture domain, covering the entire spectrum from laboratory experiments to field cultivation and harvesting related to Project GreenAI. Strong emphasis is placed on fostering industry collaboration and encouraging interdisciplinary approaches to enhance the effectiveness of research initiatives.
  • He/She will represent PMAS-AAUR at various forums such as workshops, committees, task forces, and external bodies specifically focused on precision agriculture and Project GreenAI.
  • The candidate will actively contribute to the ongoing development of research programs. The selected candidate will also be required to devise research proposals and draft project reports as needed to articulate objectives and outcomes related to project GreenAI.
  • He/ She will also assist project leadership in providing oversight of program implementation, including effective coordination between different labs and phases of research and development to maximize efficiency and progress related to project GreenAI.
  • He /She will regularly report to project executives in providing comprehensive updates on results and overall progress achieved in the research and development initiatives related to project GreenAI.


  • A PhD or MS (18 years of education) with specialization in Mechatronics / Electronics / Agricultural Engineering / Mechanical Engineering/ Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Geoinformatics / GIS / Software Engineering /Artificial Intelligence or closely related disciplines.
  • Publications in relevant peer-reviewed scientific journals are an asset.


  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines (electronics, machine learning, Artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT), Software Development related technologies mechatronics, circuitry, sensors, Auto Guidance system, hydroponics, GIS/GPS) is mandatory.
  • Strong research background with experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and software development.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in data collection, analysis, and reporting and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Experience in developing and managing funding projects will be an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.
  • Preferably be able to effectively communicate, both oral and written formats, in English.


  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in Auto Steer System/ Hydrponics/ Geospatial Technologies/Software Development/Precision agriculture techniques.


  • This position is for one-year term with a possibility of extension based on need and satisfactory performance.
