Job Description


  • He/She would spearhead research efforts in the field of Green Cabins and Hydroponics related to Project GreenAI, ensuring excellence in seedling preparation, crop plantation, and comprehensively oversee the complete crop cycle.
  • He/ She would also initiate and lead research projects related to Green Cabins aimed at optimizing production processes and enhancing the value chain and marketing of Project GreenAI.
  • He/ She will also manage/ lead staff and other resources including budget preparation.
  • He/ She will explore and implement innovative approaches, technologies, and practices to improve overall efficiency and sustainability of the Project GreenAI.
  • He /She will foster interdisciplinary approaches and cultivate industry collaboration related to the Project GreenAI, in order to address specific agriculture needs.
  • He/ She will acquire and develop externally funded research programs in line with the aims of Project GreenAI.
  • He/ She will supervise the continuous development of the research team for the Project GreenAI.
  • He/ She will coordinate and oversee the implementation of programs across different labs, optimizing efficiency and progress related to the Project GreenAI. He/ She will also generate comprehensive research proposals and draft detailed project reports as per the requirements.
  • He/ she will provide regular reports to the executive team, highlighting results, progress, and potential areas for improvement in achieving the goals of Project GreenAI.
  • He/She will represent PMAS-AAUR at workshops, committees, task forces, and external bodies related to hydroponics agriculture and allied technologies related to Project GreenAI.
  • He/ She will actively engage with industry stakeholders and external partners to enhance collaboration and stay abreast of industry advancements.
  • He/ She will ensure effective communication and collaboration for achieving optimal efficiency in the Project GreenAI.


  • A qualified person with basic degree in Agriculture or Agricultural Engineering and PhD or MS (18 years of education) with specialization in Horticulture, Soil Science, Food Science/Technology, Agriculture Economics, Agricultural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Publications in relevant peer-reviewed scientific journals are an asset.
  • PhD/Post Doctorate scholar will be preferred.


  • Experience in one or more of the following areas (Hydroponic System Design, Greenhouse Climate Control, Supply Chain Management, Economic Analysis in Agriculture, Financial Modeling for Agricultural Enterprises, Market Research and Analysis, Supply Chain Economics, Agribusiness Management, Horticultural Economics, Financial Management in Agriculture, Hydroponics, Food Packaging and Preservation, Product Lifecycle Management, Data Analysis) is mandatory. 
  • Strong research background with experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation will be an asset.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and product development will be preferred.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in data collection, analysis, and reporting and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Experience in developing and managing funding projects will be an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.


  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in Hydroponics/Production and value chain/Precision Agriculture Techniques (PATs).


  • This position is for one-year term with a possibility of extension based on need and satisfactory performance.

  • The hired candidate will undergo a 2‐3 months training period during which the candidate will be on probation. The final appointment will be confirmed after completion of the training period.
